ℹ️ Down for the Count: AMC’s App and Website Crash During Ticket Presales
The website and app for AMC Theaters—the world’s largest movie theater chain—both chucked the deuces for a few hours on the day ticket presales for the highly anticipated Dune: Part Two (in theaters March 1) was scheduled.
Makes you wonder how a company like AMC was underprepared for the website and app traffic it received knowing how anticipated this film is. But! Things happen. The issue was eventually resolved, and ticket presales continued as planned.
2024 is looking like a great year for movies.
ℹ️ Elon Making Strides in …Neurotechnology?
When you think of Elon Musk, the first thing you probably think of is Tesla. Understandable.
Then there’s Starlink—another one of his massively successful companies.
But have you heard of Nueralink?
It’s Musk’s neurotechnology company that just recently (as in January of this year) successfully implanted a computer chip into a human brain.
Yes, the brain of a living human. Yes, the person made a full recovery. Yes, this is real.
Apparently, the chip listens to brainwaves as the person is thinking about things. Those waves then translate into action which is carried out without them having to do anything except form a thought.
In some ways, this type of progress can be seen as beneficial. But, in many other ways, there could be some real repercussions we aren’t ready for.
We’d really like to get you all’s thoughts on this.
Is placing computer chips in human brains something you’re excited about seeing happen? Do you think it will actually continue or this case is just a one-time, ‘let’s just see what happens’ type of thing? Let us know in the comments.
