“When you look at his journey, you’re gonna have to follow along.” —
What do you get when you mix Dominican roots, Miami hustle, and a tech mindset sharper than Python’s syntax? You get Sebastian Nunez — the kind of young engineer rewriting his own future.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Sebastian moved to Ohio at age 11 before landing at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami. It was there that computer science grabbed hold of him — and fam, he did not let go. Sebastian dove in with JavaScript, danced with Java, and now? Python is his jam. As BobbyD says, Python’s readability makes it the language of the people, and Sebastian’s using it like a master.

But here’s where it gets good:
🚀 Sebastian didn’t just study tech — he lived it. Programs like FIU’s “InIt” and CodePath’s Build Program cracked open his understanding of IT and gave him that extra edge. That combo of classroom + community gave him the confidence to go big — like landing an internship at Google.
At Google, Sebastian found himself working inside the CI/CD (continuous deployment) pipeline, focusing on visualizing complex, nonlinear release flows. Imagine mapping out global code releases with multiple dependencies, privacy restrictions, and pre-production gates — it’s next-level stuff. And guess what? Tools like LeetCode were key in preparing him for those technical interviews (pro tip: brush up on your data structures, fam).
But here’s the kicker: Sebastian isn’t just punching code. He’s using TypeScript to help engineers see and understand the systems they’re building. He’s also soaking up the culture at Google’s Chelsea Market offices — where flexibility, creativity, and workspace design push him even further. When asked if he wants a full-time job like this? You already know — yes, please.
And he’s not stopping there.
Sebastian’s eye is set on finishing strong at FIU, applying early to top-tier companies, and eventually stepping into project management. But right now? He’s focused on becoming a senior software engineer and taking on side projects that sharpen his edge.
Shoutout to CodePath, which Sebastian credits for opening major doors — from Android and iOS dev to interview prep and critical networking. And shoutout to the Miami tech community, which is on the rise, even as talent like Sebastian sometimes has to look beyond city borders to find opportunities.
Here’s what we can all learn from Sebastian:
🔥 Keep showing up.
🔥 Use your resources.
🔥 Stay persistent, even when the path feels slow.
🔥 And above all, keep hustling.
